About the Product
Dhansakh is a popular Indian dish, originating among the Parsi Zoroastrian community. Dhansakh gained popularity in the late 19th century in Bombay and Karachi. Persian method of using lentils with meats or vegetables is used along with Gujarati spices and condiments. Spices used are more sweet than pungent. Junyali dhansakh spice blend is from Madam Coorverbai from khare ghat Parsi colony the hotbed of Parsi culture and cuisine.

How to Use
Soak toor, chana, masoor, black urad dal, val, green moong - can use any one or two dals also. Heat Ghee and add sliced spring onion with stalk green garlic (opt) stir till brown add ginger-garlic, chopped vegetables (aubergine, pumpkin, potatoes, marrow) or add meats, add fenugreek leaves (soaked in saltwater to remove bitterness) green chillies, tomatoes, mint leaves, coriander leaves, cumin, coriander, salt, dhansakh spice blend, turmeric, chillies stir well and add dals cook well to a mush. Add to the main dish, let it cook on a slow fire, add tamarind paste, cook and lastly add lemon juice.
