It can be helpful in preventing cholesterol, cancer, blood sugar, stomach ulcers among others. Apart from being a wonderful medicine, kalonji is a superb spice used to flavour a variety of traditional dishes including pickles.

How to Use

A tempering of Kalonji along with Saunf or jeera goes well over rice. 
Toasted nigella can be added to citric pickles to balance the flavour and improve digestion.
It is commonly used for flavouring curries, Dal, stir-fried vegetables and even savouries such as Samosa, papdis and Kachori among others.
